Everything I say on Twitter is a lie

One of my favorite ways to mess with people is using this paradox in some form… Thanks for reading!

(btw, Gödel, Escher, Bach is one of my favorite books of all time; among other things, gives a really fresh perspective on music.)

From Wikipedia:

The Epimenides paradox is a problem in logic. It is named after the Cretan philosopher Epimenides of Knossos (alive circa 600 BC), There is no single statement of the problem; a typical variation is given in the book Gödel, Escher, Bach, by Douglas Hofstadter:

Epimenides was a Cretan who made one immortal statement: “All Cretans are liars.”

Old Trinidadian Soccer Coach Says…

Come on, mon! Let’s go! You lookin like a ragamuffin, mon. Keep it movin. The worse that can happen is you get exhausted…

That’s what my conditioning coach (from Trinidad) used to yell at us, back in the day, while we were running our 6-mile warm ups (no joke, to make things worse, he made us run the 6 miles with our arms straight out in front of us). I always think of that last sentence whenever I’ve been working non-stop… the worse that can happen is you get exhausted… I don’t know why, but to me, when you put hard work into that perspective, it doesn’t seem so hard anymore.

Getting closer to launch. Fine tuning a few things. Will get alpha user sign up codes to people soon enough.

Jim Leyland Says… (.ONOMIX First Post)

It’s not good when you light up two Marlboros at the same time at 3 a.m., washing it down with a glass of chocolate milk. You know you have a lot on your mind when you do that.

Thought that was an appropriate quote for me right now. First post in all of .ONOMIX land. See you all here soon.
