That’s what my conditioning coach (from Trinidad) used to yell at us, back in the day, while we were running our 6-mile warm ups (no joke, to make things worse, he made us run the 6 miles with our arms straight out in front of us). I always think of that last sentence whenever I’ve been working non-stop… the worse that can happen is you get exhausted… I don’t know why, but to me, when you put hard work into that perspective, it doesn’t seem so hard anymore.

It’s not good when you light up two Marlboros at the same time at 3 a.m., washing it down with a glass of chocolate milk. You know you have a lot on your mind when you do that.
